May 2009 – Fidélia Assistance, provider of assistance services to the Covéa Group, chose to set up a third platform in Nantes, adding to those in Saint-Cloud and Tours.
The company will establish its offices in the spring of 2010 at Espace Saupin, in the heart of the Euronantes Business Park.
Nantes in competition with Lille
The Greater Nantes area was the final bidder against the Lille metropolitan area to become home to this platform. Nantes was chosen due to the strategic location of the Euronantes Business Park. Bernard Barrère, chief executive of Fidélia Assistance, explains: “The region’s economic health and job catchment area, combined with the real enthusiasm shown by local players, weighed heavily in our decision in favour of Nantes”.
Fidélia Assistance in Nantes – key figures
5,000 m² of offices at Espace Saupin
Fidélia chose Espace Saupin, built on the former site of the Marcel Saupin stadium and marketed by developers CBRE and IEL, because of the intrinsic qualities of the building and its central location near the high-speed train station. Located next to the Institute for Advanced Studies inaugurated last February, the 5,400 m2, six-floor building will be delivered early in 2010 by ADIM Groupe Vinci.
Support from Nantes Métropole Développement
Above and beyond the property itself, the local economic development agency helped Fidélia Assistance choose the site by outlining the area’s economic strengths (job catchment area, brain power, weight of the banking and insurance sectors) and those of the Euronantes Business Park. As part of its expansion, the insurance group plans to hire 400 people in 2012. Nantes Métropole Développement will provide mobility assistance for employees in Saint-Cloud and Tours wishing to transfer to Nantes.
